Javier is a Scientific Collaborator at the Geneva University Hospitals in the Center for Emerging Viral Diseases. His research focuses on developing and applying statistical and mathematical modeling to better understand and control infectious diseases. His current interest is in integrating diverse data sources for epidemiological inference, in particular serology, with a specific regard to emerging and climate-sensitive diseases. Javier’s research has involved interdisciplinary collaborations at the interface between infectious disease epidemiology, ecology and environmental sciences on schistosomiasis, cholera, COVID-19 and more recently mpox.
