Aybüke completed her PhD at Johns Hopkins under the mentorship of Dr. Azman. Her PhD dissertation focused on strengthening surveillance and outbreak response for hepatitis E in low-resource settings. She is interested in generating evidence to inform outbreak response for epidemic-prone pathogens in humanitarian settings and has experience with surveillance of pathogens transmitted by unsafe water, sanitation, and hygiene and efforts to evaluate and build vaccine confidence.
