Geneva Disease Dynamics

We tackle key questions in infectious disease epidemiology with multidisciplinary approaches that iterate between field data collection, data analysis and modeling, and translation to decision makers, all while applying a disease dynamics lens.

Core Principles

  • End-to-end mindset: We believe that highly impactful research stems jointly from the identification of thoughtful research questions, targeted data collection, bespoke analytic approaches, and effective discourse with decision makers.
  • Varied methodological approaches: We use a wide range of tools – descriptive epidemiology, dynamical and statistical modeling, machine learning, mixed methods, rapid analytics – whatever can get the job done.
  • Disease dynamics lens: We seek to characterize how disease transmission occurs and how it gets reported from ecological, environmental, and socio-behavioral perspectives.
  • Diverse and multidisciplinary team: We understand that the quality of our research stems from encouraging diversity in our disciplinary academic training and cultural backgrounds.

Come work with us

As we are just building our team in Geneva, we are on the look out for motivated people to join us. We are currently looking for post-doctoral fellows and data analysts to work across mpox, hepatitis E and cholera-related research. If you are motivated to work with us to tackle big epidemiologic questions and influence policy, get in touch. If you are interested in doing a PhD with us check out the Insitute of Global Health’s Doctoral Program in Global Health.

We are recruiting a PhD student to work on a new project on understanding the role of bacteriophage in shaping cholera transmission (download the full position description)
